Update on ‘Su Dinero’ and Partnership with DAI and SoukTel

MFO’s partnership with DAI and SoukTel to provide free financial education services to low income people over the internet recently saw the launch of their Su Dinero site in Columbia. The site was featured in The Wall Street Journal in an article that named SoukTel as  being one of the five apps that will help bring the next one billion people online.

MFO entered its partnership with DAI and SoukTel with the goal of bringing free financial literacy materials to millions who live without them. Together, we were able to create a site that can be accessed on both feature and smart phones over low bandwidth, mobile connections. Through this partnership MFO is opening a new chapter in its efforts to bring financial education to the low-income market. Our work first began as an innovator in financial education over 10 years ago when we began developing our core curriculum. We strive to continue to think of new ways to adapt our curriculum to meet the ever-changing needs of low-income clients. In doing this, we hope to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to take charge of their financial lives.
